Set in a natural forest, our Alpine Adventure Worlds of "Kugelwald am Glungezer" include the longest outdoor marble run in the world, only with outsize tracks and balls made of genuine, locally sourced Austrian stone pine. Located at 1,560m above sea-level, the Adventure Worlds extend over an area of 8,000m2 and invite you to exercise, play and be creative all at the same time. Similar to a roller coaster, the wooden balls travel down pinewood tracks and make their way right through the forest. Jumps and steep passages, a hollow tree trunk, a ball lift and many other playful elements for you to build in at will give you plenty of scope for designing your very own ball track. Don't miss out on endless opportunities for social interaction, fun and play!
Made from sustainably manufactured wooden tracks and play equipment, our Adventure Worlds put first-hand experiences of nature first. Operating the different wooden ball runs is a self-explanatory experience that makes it easy for visitors of all age groups to find their way around the play area. The entire installation is made of Austrian stone pine and relies solely on the mechanics of motion without any outside energy sources. Our Adventure Worlds offer a variety of different play stations such as the wooden ball runs, equipment that enhances motor skills and dexterity, and a 25 sqm tree house.
In addition to the ball runs with a total length of 500m and the activity play stations, the Adventure Worlds on Glungezer provide four other areas:
- a relax area with a viewing platform
- a forest classroom for school groups
- a creative do-it-yourself area
- a toddlers play area outside the Halsmarter Alpine inn
Coinciding with the operating hours of the Glungezerbahn gondola, the Adventure Worlds are open daily from 09.00 to 16.30h in the summer months, from mid-May to early October.
The Adventure Worlds on Glungezer are situated directly at the Halsmarter middle terminal (1,560m asl) and are easily accessible by the Glungezerbahn gondola to provide an unforgettable day out for families, school classes or kindergarten groups.
